ChildLine is the free, 24-hour helpline for children and young people in the UK. Children and young people can call our helpline on 0800 1111 about any problem, at any time - day or night. Children who are deaf or find using a regular phone difficult can try our textphone service on 0800 400 222. ChildLine's counsellors are there to help you find ways to sort things out.

ChildLine is confidential - which means we won't tell anyone about your call unless you want ChildLine to talk to somebody for you, or you are in danger.

Our lines can be busy but please keep trying and you will get through.

Every minute of every day, ChildLine is counselling children and young people calling from across the UK.

ChildLine is working to protect children who are at risk from harm and to help children resolve or alleviate problems in their lives.

Behind ChildLine’s work are thousands of very special people. Our supporters help us throughout the UK by volunteering and by raising much-needed funds. Without them we simply couldn’t give the comfort and support that we provide for the thousands of children who call our free helpline every day.

Anyone can get involved with ChildLine’s work and make a difference to children and young people. Not only giving money but, just as importantly, giving a little of your time. There are hundreds of ways to help us. Whether you are an individual, or a member of a company or other organisation, we can offer a wide range of opportunities.
